Shipping Transit Times to the USA

Regular Air Mail | Parcel Post
Transit Time: 2 to 6 weeks

FedEx International Priority
Transit Time: 1 -3 days

Please note: These times are shipping time only.
Add the handling time, which is between 3 days
and 3 weeks, depending on the brand and pattern, as posted on the individual product pages.

A. Shipping Fees

Our shipping charges are flat fees and a contribution towards the international shipping cost.
The actual cost is often much higher, depending on the weight and/or volume of the parcels.
Shipping charges will never be higher than those quoted above.

Shipping fees, if applicable, will be added to the invoice.

Shipping Rates to the United States and Canada

A) Regular Air Mail | Parcel Post (Air Mail to America + Surface within)

Transit Time: 2 to 4 weeks on average.

  • on orders of US$400.00 and up - Free shipping
  • on orders below US$ 400.00 - US$ 40.00 flat fee

B) FedEx International Priority

Transit Time: 3 days on average.

  • on all orders: The shipping fee is a percentage of the order value.
    The base fee is $50.00

    The actual shipping fee will be shown during check out when you will
    be asked to choose your desired shipping method.
    You may change your choice at that time.

Shipping Fees to Pacific Region: Japan, New Zealand, Korea, Australia

1) Regular Air Mail | Parcel Post

Transit Time: 2 to 4 weeks on average.

  • on orders of US$500.00 and up - Free shipping
  • on orders below US$ 500.00 - US$ 50.00 flat fee

2) FedEx International Priority

Transit Time: 5 to 7 days on average.

Transit Times:
We display the transit times quoted by the carrier companies (Post and FedEx).
It reflects the average duration of transit - it may be faster or considerably longer.
Please note: We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier.

Customs Fees / Import Duties are not a part of shipping fees.
There may be customs duties, taxes, or tariffs imposed by the destination country which you may have to pay. The amount depends on the value of the merchandise being imported. These charges are in addition to the shipping costs we quote you.
Usually, they are less than the Sales Tax in most States, though.
See more below. Plaisirs de France is not responsible for these charges.

A note to our US customers:
The US charges import duty.
On Faience de Gien, the rate is 4.5% on most items - less than most state's sales tax.
Example: Import duty on a $40.00 Gien plate is only $1.80
The US postal system will charge a processing fee for clearing your parcel through customs.

2. Customs Fees / Import Duty
You are responsible for any duties, customs fees or other taxes as determined by your country.
They are not a part of shipping charges!

United States of America
The following information on US customs is given without a guarantee of accuracy, as the Customs officers are the only ones who can make a final determination of product classification!
We do, however, believe the following information is correct.

If shipped by International Parcel Post
You will receive the customs forms with the parcel from your mail carrier / post office.
At that time you will have to pay the customs duties and fees, including the USPS customs processing fee (ca. $10.00)

If shipped by FedEx or other commercial carrier
Their customs broker will call you, requesting a faxed authorization to complete the customs clearance upon your behalf. They will collect the amount of customs duties due.

Other Countries
Other countries have various Customs duties and/or taxes.

Shipments within the European Union do not carry customs fees!

Please inform yourself before ordering. As mentioned above, the customer is
solely responsible for any customs and taxes of their country.

Canada
The Canadian Border Service Agency charges GST.
Their website http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/courier/postal/ind_gst-e.html states:

"You must pay the 6% goods and services tax (GST) on most items you import into Canada or receive by mail or courier. If you live in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Newfoundland/Labrador, please see our harmonized sales tax (HST) page"

C. Delivery Times

Items in stock will be shipped within 7 business days. Certain only.

Most items will be ordered from the manufacturers and ship 2 to 4 weeks after order confirmation. Further delays are possible due to manufacturers' production schedules and technical production problems. We have no influence on production and are not responsible for delays caused by it.

The transfer time varies on shipping method and country of recipient.

D. Insurance / Damage Claims

Important:
Please inspect any parcel upon arrival for outer damage before you sign for it.

All shipments are fully insured, in the unlikely event of loss or damage to your shipment, we will supply replacements free of charge to the customer. In case replacements are not available, a refund will be given. We reserve the right to request a photograph of the damages.

Claims must be made to the carrier right away.

- In case of shipments by International Parcel Post, the damaged parcel must be taken to the local post office, and a claim report has to be filed.

- In case of shipments by FedEx, the claim must be made to FedEx

Furthermore, customers must report breakages, damages, and shortages within 7 days of receipt of the shipment to us.

Please retain the original carton, packaging materials and damaged merchandise for inspection by the carrier - otherwise the claim cannot be honored.

E. Tracking Your Parcel

International parcel post cannot be tracked at the moment. The United States Postal Service does not accommodate it. However, four (4) weeks after shipment we can put an insurance trace on the parcel.

In case of shipments by FedEx, we will provide you with the tracking number at the time we confirm the shipment by email.

Should you have a FedEx customer number, please let us know.
It will speed up the delivery time!

F. Returns & Exchange

Damaged items: All shipments are fully insured, and in the unlikely event of loss or damage to your shipment, we will supply replacements free of charge. In case replacements are not available, a full refund will be given.

Claims must be made to the carrier right away.
In case of shipments by International parcel post, the damaged parcel must be taken to your local post office, and a claim report has to be filed.
In case of shipments by FedEx, the claim must be reported to FedEx.

Customers must also report breakages/ damages/ shortages within 7 days of receipt of shipment to Plaisirs de France


Please retain the original carton, packing materials and damaged merchandise for inspection by the carrier - otherwise the claim cannot be honored. We will advise you of the disposition of the damaged items.

Returns: If for any reason you are not completely satisfied
with your purchase, you may return it to TableIdeas within 14 days of receipt of order for a full refund of the purchase value, provided the merchandise is returned to us unused, in original condition, and in the original packaging. Shipping charges and customs duties are non-refundable. Return shipping and insurance charges are the responsibility of the customer. Please use the most economical shipment method, which is Parcel Post by Surface / Nonpriority

Items that are made-to-order to the customer's specifications and/or sold on a special-order basis cannot be returned.

For any merchandise returned after 14 days of receipt, (other than faulty or damaged items) you will be issued a online store credit for the purchase price less a 20% re-stocking and administrative fee. No return merchandise is accepted after 30 days of receipt.

Following receipt of the merchandise at our warehouse, a credit less shipping fees will be issued to the credit card on which the original purchase was made.

Manufacturer's Defects
: If an item is defective from the manufacturer, or if we shipped the wrong item, please contact us promptly so that we can make arrangements to have the item shipped back to us at our expense. We will ship a replacement as soon as possible at our expense. After a return is authorized by us, please use the most economical shipment method, which is Parcel Post by Surface / Nonpriority

Should a shipment be returned to TableIdeas due to failure of delivery, we reserve the right to charge the reshipment cost of goods.

Order Cancellations
Customers have the right to cancel their order at any time prior to its dispatch, except for special orders, which cannot be cancelled or returned.

Special Order Conditions
50% non-refundable deposit due at time of order, remainder at time of shipment. No returns or cancellations. Manufacturer's defects will be exchanged for like item.

The protection of your personal data while you are shopping at Plaisirs de France is very important to us. Therefore we use for all data transfer the SSL security system (secure Socket Layer) in combination with a 128-Bit cryptography. This is currently the highest safety standard in Internet that is also use in online banking. Plaisirs de France treats your personal data confidentially and uses them only for the customer relation with you.
We will not transfer your personal data to third parties for promotion purposes.
